Living room.

What got you started and where?

Always loved sports and as soon as I got the opportunity to play hockey, I started with Tony Caruana Smith at Stella Maris College, Gzira.

At what age did you start?

5 or 6 years old.

What made you join Hotsticks?

Being the founder’s nephew made it natural to join Hotsticks.

What is your biggest accomplishment in hockey so far?

On a specific level, coming in after a long absence and scoring 3 goals against White Hart in a crucial game to help the team win the league. On a career level, enjoying the game more and more as I grow older and keeping on trying to improve certain aspects of my game even though I am way past my prime.

Who do you believe were the 3 most important persons who helped you in the game?

Undoubtedly Tony Caruana Smith but I also enjoyed learning from all the coaches I was lucky to have.

If you were the Minister of Sports, what would you do to improve the hockey scene in Malta?

Empower the Association to become self sustainable by promorting the use of the Kordin Complex for Sport related business. This would allow HAM to invest in the Sport, which I believe would bring far better results than many other sports.

What things do you not like to do?

Losing.

Who is your role model, and why?

Many people have influenced my life positively, my parents, Tony Caruana Smith and various others but I would not say I have a specific role model.

Don’t rush (the tackle, a word etc etc)!

What do you treasure most in your life?

Family.

What are your plans for the future?

Win a cup or two with Hotsticks as a player and then get back to coaching once my son is old enough to play hockey.
